As we mentioned in our previous blog post, Eat Fit collaborates with restaurants across the state of Louisiana. The Hispanic population in New Orleans and the surrounding parishes is small but growing rapidly. Between 2000 and 2020, the Hispanic population grew from 4% to 9% of the total metro New Orleans population (The Data Center, 2021). The growing Hispanic community brings more Latin restaurants and growing demand for Latin cuisines. We worked with Eat Fit to highlight some of their partner restaurants that feature Latin dishes that promote good health. The Eat Fit menu seal helps customers identify foods that meet certain nutritional guidelines, such as vegetable-focused options, lean proteins, low sodium, and minimal added sugar. We want to celebrate these restaurants for showcasing these delicious, Latin-inspired dishes and being willing to take part in this important initiative. Read on for a few restaurant highlights!
